Random Whatnots

I follow far too many blogs and spend far too many hours browsing sites. So, I thought I’d make it a little more worthwhile and share some of the best/most interesting/most useful links and spread the word to allow someone else to spend far too many hours browsing sites and reading these articles. It’s all about spreading the procrastination really ;)

  • Vimeo looks very cool
I don’t make videos at all, but if I did this would be the place for them. I found myself signing up just because of the cool sign up/login page. Very nice!
  • David Airey - 5 steps to building trust online
David, and many of his visitors, have some great tips on building trust online. It’s a vital part of today’s business, especially as a web designer. In the past two years, I have not met one of my clients face-to-face. As much as I would like to, the Atlantic seperates us, which makes it a tad difficult.
  • ALA: Human-to-Human Design
A really good article by Sharon Lee. I especially love this bit: “During the filming of Withnail and I, the director told lead actor Richard E. Grant to “stamp the celluloid”, meaning to go full pelt, not half-measure. It’s timely advice for when you want to inspire your audience and make them take action—don’t be polite, grab them by the throat—and bring your brand to life!”
  • Smashing Magazine - WordPress Plugins and Tutorials
The folks at Smashing Magazine pull together a great list of WordPress plugins and tutorials.

Hi Lorissa,

Thanks for the mention! I was surprised to see the minimalistic look you have here.

Is it a recent change or have I been bad at keeping up?

It’s been awhile since I’ve started using this theme. I still haven’t had any time to do my own design - that whole, “the cobbler with no shoes” syndrome.
