no resolutions, just 3 words

my good friend deb, recently wrote an article for all things girl about setting goals for the new year by selecting just one word, or at most 3, to inspire you for the year. after years of setting rather lofty resolutions that typically were forgotten by january 15th, i’ve instead decided to select 3 words to inspire me throughout 2008:

  • positive
  • balance
  • courage

i plan on being a lot more positive this year about myself, my relationships, my work and my projects. if i can be positive about what i want to achieve, i can make it happen and enjoy the journey.

i plan on balancing work and play better. 2007 didn’t see much play time and was mostly just work. i need to find a balance with both. i also need to find a good balance between enjoying my sweet-tooth cravings and living a much healthier lifestyle.

lastly, i plan on having more courage to pursue what i want and take a few leaps into the unknown, in believing in myself and in trusting others. i plan to put myself out there more in the new year…and that takes some courage.

happy new year everyone! i’m really excited about what 2008 has in store. i have some really great projects lined up and can’t wait to dive in. here’s to 2008!

Positive:
For someone who’s always lifting me up when I’m down, you just need to turn that finger around towards yourself. Of course, that’s easier said than done, isn’t it? Anyway, I know you’re always my beacon of positivity when I need it and I thank you!

Balance:
Now that the *cough* monkey is off your back so to speak, I think you’ll find more time for play. There will be no one but yourself to work you like a pack mule. :)

Courage:
Dude, you got a Dell… er, I mean, you got the monkey off your back… that takes a lot of courage to leap into the unknown of business proprietorship. You’ve already ticked that one off your list and it’s not even January 15th yet.
