Play Big

Mandela is an exceptional man. I won’t go into all the whys, but I would recommend reading his autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom. Brilliant, heart-breaking, infuriating, inspiring. In his 1994 inaugural speech, he said the following:

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

It’s a good thing to remember.

The rest of his speech is inspiring as well, and well worth the read. If only more leaders in this world had his outlook.
