Rights, Not Guns for Zimbabwe

Please take a minute out of your day to sign this petition. Perhaps you can take an extra minute to then spread the word as well.

Dockworkers in South Africa have blocked a Chinese arms boat from reaching Zimbabwe… but the crackdown continues. As the ship moves up the Southern African coast looking for a new port–and China weighs whether to recall the weapons–African unions, citizen groups, and church organisations are launching a campaign to stop arms from fuelling the Zimbabwe crisis.

If you need some incentive, simply visit This is Zimbabwe and view some of the photos of what is happening to people in Zimbabwe. Their crime? Voting against a tyrannical party. Expressing their freedom to vote. Speaking out. Forewarning: some of the photos are rather difficult to view.

Thanks for pointing me to this Lorissa. I’ll definitely head that way right away. I really hope something like this can make a difference, but as time goes on and nothing continues to happen in Zim I get more and more disheartened…

Likewise. Every day there is some new reason to feel even more dismayed by the whole situation. I can only hope something miraculous will happen.
